Textiles for mechanical engineering, electrical industry and chemical industry

Industrial textiles are concerning quantity and value the second largest application field of technical textiles and cover a wide range of highly specialised products. INDUTECH was the most presented application field at TECHTEXTIL 2009 in Frankfurt/Main with more than 500 exhibitors from a total of 1140. Important applications are products for mechanical engineering, chemical and electrical industries, drive engineering, handling equipment and grinding. Industrial textiles are used as roll covers, damping elements, filter elements and seals up to cleaning wipes and other cleaning textiles.

Nearly each industrial enterprise uses technical textiles. Such products are undergone a wearing process leading to a more or less regular replacement. For textile enterprises this means a relatively stable demand and production cycles easily to plan. Manufacturing of industrial textiles requires a scientifically based knowledge. The utilisation of state-of-the-art fibres and processing methods guarantees that textile industrial products fulfil the currently needed requirements.
